PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES FOR WOMEN IN TRUMANSBURG, NY

Perimenopause | ADHD & Autism | Medication Management | Therapy
This is a place for women who…
-
This feels more than just “off.” Your moods are all over the place, your sleep is never consistent, and your mind doesn’t feel as clear as it used to. Maybe you’ve been told it’s “too early” for hormones, or you’re stuck trying to choose between options that don’t feel fully explained. You keep wondering, is this all normal? Is every woman experiencing this? You just want to understand what’s actually going on and what will help without making things worse.
-
You’re doing it all—therapy, exercise, sleep, maybe even meds—but something still isn’t adding up or making sense. You might feel stuck with side effects, unanswered questions, or a one-size-fits-all plan. You’re not against medication or treatment plans, but it’d be nice if you could have someone see the full picture (for once) and help you make informed, helpful decisions.
-
You get the job done, but behind the scenes, it takes a lot more effort than it looks, and definitely more than anybody realizes. Staying organized or keeping up with everything in life feels like a constant uphill climb. Maybe a child’s recent ADHD or autism diagnosis made you look at your own patterns differently, or you’ve had an inkling for years. There has to be some sort of way to make daily life feel easier, because with how hard things are right now, you know you can’t keep doing this forever.
You’re not asking for too much. You just haven’t connected the dots yet.
Hi, I’m Dr. Whitney Simone.
I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who works with high-achieving women navigating the often-overlapping challenges of mental health, hormones, and the demands of a full life.
Despite doing all the “right” things, many of my patients come in feeling overwhelmed, mentally foggy, or just unlike themselves. The answers they’ve received or the care they’ve had before this barely scrape the surface…or left them feeling dismissed and lost about where to turn next.
We do things differently here.
With a medically-informed, empathetic, and thorough psychiatric lens, we look intentionally at all the factors at play so we can begin to understand what’s actually driving how you feel—and how to change it. It’s possible to feel like yourself again (or the version of yourself you’ve always wanted), and I can help you get there.
I specialize in…
-
Things that used to feel manageable don’t anymore. Your patience is thinner, your sleep isn’t working the way it used to, and you don’t quite feel like yourself—but you can’t fully explain why. You might be wondering if hormones are part of it, or if this is just how things are now. Either way, it’s unsettling—and you want real answers, not guesswork.
-
There’s a system to how you manage your life and get things done—but it’s taking more effort and becoming more of a hurdle with each new day. There’s a constant mental load of trying to stay on top of things, keep things organized, and not drop the ball. You’re ready to understand what’s actually going on, not just push through it.
-
You’ve likely already tried to figure this out—maybe with therapy, maybe with medication—but you’re still wondering why something feels like it’s missing. You don’t want to be handed a prescription and sent on your way, but you also don’t want to keep spinning your wheels.
-
You keep wondering why the life you’ve worked so hard to build suddenly feels so hard to enjoy. Maybe you’re considering a major life change, medication, hormones, therapy—you just know something needs to shift. Through therapy informed by both psychiatry and deep self-understanding, we’ll make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface so life can stop feeling this heavy all the time.
Getting Started
-
We’ll begin with a brief consultation to talk through what’s been going on, what you’re looking for, and whether this feels like the right fit.
-
You’ll fill out forms covering your mental health, medical history, lifestyle, sleep, hormones, and current symptoms so I can start to gather the pieces of the puzzle together before we meet.
-
In our first appointment, we’ll go beyond surface-level symptoms to connect the dots and truly understand what’s actually contributing to how you’re feeling and what you’re going through.
-
We’ll sort through the possibilities together, looking for patterns across your body, mind, history, and current life so you’re not left guessing about what’s behind your symptoms.
-
We’ll create a personalized plan based on your goals, preferences, and needs. That may include medication, therapy, lab work, supplements, lifestyle changes, or coordination with another provider.
There’s a smarter, more thoughtful approach to feeling better.
I offer in-person appointments in Trumansburg as well as virtual visits for patients located anywhere in New York and Pennsylvania.
